Discovery of Voltaic Electricity

Faraday found that by rotating the disc between the poles of a horseshoe magnet he could obtain a continuous direct current. This indeed, was the first ever generator. From Faraday's experiments came devices that led to the modern electric motor, generator and transformer. Michael Faraday continued his electrical experiments and in the following year of 1832, Michael Faraday proved that the electricity could be induced from a magnet. Faraday discovered that voltaic electricity could be produced by a battery, and static electricity were all the same.

Faraday also did significant work in electrochemistry, starting the first and second laws of electrolysis.  This laid the basis for electrochemistry, another great modern industrial discovery. Michael Faraday's father; James Faraday, was a blacksmith born in Yorkshire which is situated in the north of England.  Michael Faraday's mother, Margaret Hastwell, she was the daughter of a farmer who was also from the north of England .In the early part of 1791 Michael Faraday's mother and father, James and Margaret moved to Newington Butts, which was then a village outside London, where James hoped that work would have been plentiful.

His parents had two other children from their marriage besides Michael! A son and daughter before moving  to Newington Butts.  Michael Faraday was born just a few months after they moved to their new premises! Check out links!
